Control Panels Macclesfield

PV Distribution Boards Macclesfield

PV Distribution Boards play a crucial role in solar power systems. Acting as the central hub, they connect inverters to the electrical loads on-site, ensuring energy is distributed safely and efficiently.

What distinguishes our offerings from standard off-the-shelf units is their ability to include a wide variety of essential and optional components within high-quality, pre-wired, and pre-assembled systems — effectively providing a ready-to-use, plug-and-play solution.

These can include, but are not limited to:

G99 Relay Panels

DSH Cables & Controls has earned a strong reputation in Macclesfield within the industry, primarily due to the reliability of our G99 Relay Panels.

These panels, also known as Secondary Phase Failure or Loss of Mains Protection devices, may be mandated by your Distribution Network Operator (DNO), but they are generally regarded as best practice for larger solar installations. While many modern inverters now feature built-in G99 protection, having a centralised protection unit that can be independently tested by an engineer is often preferable—and in some cases, required.

Our solution is designed around a PV Distribution Board setup, incorporating an incomer, isolating switch, MCBs or MCCBs for the inverters, as well as surge and fuse protection. What makes our offering stand out is the integration of the ABB CM-UFD G99 Relay, which constantly monitors the grid for issues such as over- or under-voltage, frequency variations, and other faults. In the event of a loss of mains, the contactor disconnects the inverters until the problem is resolved and grid stability is restored.

AC Isolators Macclesfield

AC Isolator Panels are an essential element of any PV installation. While high-end switchboards may not be required for every project, AC isolation remains a critical safety feature.

Our selection of enclosed isolators ranges from 16A to 4000A. We exclusively use top-quality components in their construction—when it comes to vital equipment like this, compromise is not an option.

One of the main advantages of enclosed isolators is their flexibility. We can customise the enclosure to suit any cable size, include metering, and install latching state contactors for manual generator intertrip functions. Each panel is specifically designed to match your system’s configuration, operational requirements, and any site-specific considerations.

Export Limitation Macclesfield

The release of G100 Issue 2 brought significant updates to the standards required for system compliance.

We offer solutions for both conventional contactor-based Reverse Power Relay systems and advanced G100 technology, which can monitor and manage the output of any inverter. The traditional approach provides a more economical option that integrates with a manufacturer’s system, while the G100 option offers greater efficiency and control.

Each approach has its advantages, and the most effective way to determine which suits your needs is to speak with a member of our team.

Metering/ Contractor Panels

Our contactor and metering panels are enhanced versions of our standard AC Isolator Panels. They maintain the core AC isolation function while adding the benefits of MID-Approved Metering for accurate data recording, alongside contactors that provide a range of operational features.

Metering Panels – When metering is needed, an MID-approved meter is often required within your system. We can integrate this directly into our isolator panels, reducing installation time and on-site wiring. The door-mounted MID meters also give a polished appearance to the panels. This provides a cost-effective and efficient way to include metering, available in Mild Steel Enclosures or GRP with an IP66 Inspection Window.

Contactor Panels – Similar to the Metering Panels, our contactor panels provide an alternative isolation method to the traditional rotary isolator. We install the contactor alongside a latching state momentary key switch, perfect for setups with a backup generator or where your PV system requires intertripping. The momentary key switch ensures the system cannot re-energise until trained personnel manually reset it on site.

String Boxes Macclesfield

DC String Junction and Combiner Boxes are increasingly replacing traditional DC Isolators, which have come under scrutiny following several major solar fire incidents. As most inverters now include built-in DC isolation, our Junction and Combiner Boxes offer the flexibility to isolate individual strings and provide customised fuse protection on the positive, negative, both, or neither conductors.

Junction Boxes – These are particularly useful for clients offering maintenance services, as they allow individual strings to be isolated and make fault detection more precise. Combined with fuse protection, carefully selected components guided by our expert recommendations, and the high-quality craftsmanship of our team, you can be assured that your system is safe and reliable.

Combiner Boxes – Building on the benefits of Junction Boxes, Combiner Boxes also allow multiple strings to be combined into a single armoured cable. This streamlines cable management and enhances safety, especially for longer cable runs.

UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) Panel

Our UPS system, developed by our Director Simon Holdcroft, is an innovative battery changeover solution that enables a property’s entire electrical load to transition seamlessly from the grid to battery power, with no interruptions or flickering.

What sets our UPS system apart is its ability to power the whole home (as long as the batteries hold sufficient charge), rather than just essential circuits. At DSH Cables & Controls, we appreciate that everyone has different priorities—whether you’re working from home, streaming films, or running household appliances, your power supply remains uninterrupted while the batteries have charge.

We offer solutions compatible with both AC and DC coupled battery storage systems.
